Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What is Eutierria Therapy?

Eutierria Therapy is an eco-decolonial approach to mental health that emphasizes healing through a deep connection with nature and the environment. It integrates traditional ecological knowledge with modern therapeutic practices to foster a sense of oneness with the Earth and helps clients reconnect with their ancestral earth-based identities.

2. What types of therapy do you offer?

I offer a variety of therapeutic services, including Eutierria Therapy, which takes place in natural settings, Traditional Talk Therapy conducted via telehealth online, Group therapies, and Ketamine-assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).

3. What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy?

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a therapeutic approach that combines the use of ketamine, a legal and FDA-approved medication, with psychotherapy to help clients explore and address deeply rooted issues. Ketamine can facilitate altered states of consciousness, which can provide new perspectives and insights during therapy sessions. This approach is particularly useful for treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and other mental health challenges. KAP sessions are carefully guided in a safe and supportive environment to maximize therapeutic outcomes. (Learn more about KAP here)

4. What is therapy like?

Therapy with me is a personalized experience that focuses on your unique needs and goals. Whether we’re meeting outdoors or online, my approach is compassionate, respectful, and collaborative. Together, we’ll explore your challenges, build on your strengths, and work toward meaningful change. The length and focus of therapy can vary, and we will discuss what works best for you.

5. Who do you work with?

I work with individuals and groups, ages 18-40 who are seeking to explore and heal from various mental health challenges, particularly those interested in deepening their connection with nature and exploring the impacts of cultural and historical trauma. My clients include people from diverse backgrounds who are committed to personal growth and healing.

6. What are your specializations?

My specializations include eco-therapy, trauma-informed care, and decolonial approaches to mental health. I focus on helping clients reconnect with their ancestral identities, navigate cultural and historical traumas, and foster a deeper relationship with the natural world.

7. Do you offer online or in-person sessions?

Yes, I offer both online (telehealth) and in-person sessions. Eutierria Therapy sessions typically take place outdoors, while other services may be conducted online. Some group therapies may have specific outdoor or indoor locations. We will determine the best format for your needs.

8. How long is each session?

Individual therapy sessions typically last between 45-60 minutes. Group therapy sessions may vary in length depending on the format and focus of the group. KAP sessions are usually scheduled in 3-hr blocks. We will discuss the specific duration of our sessions during our initial consultation.

9. What are your fees?

Fees vary depending on the type of service provided. I accept electronic payments through Stripe via the Simple Practice client portal, and payments are due at the time of service. Please contact me for specific fee information.

10. Do you accept insurance?

I do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide you with a detailed invoice (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. Please check with your insurance company to see if they cover out-of-network providers.

11. What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance. This allows me to offer the time to another client. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a $65 cancellation fee.

12. Is therapy confidential?

Yes, therapy is confidential. Your privacy is a top priority, and I follow strict privacy practices in line with HIPAA regulations. I will not share any information about you without your explicit permission, except in situations where I am required by law to do so, such as suspected child abuse, threats of harm to yourself or others, or as required by court order.

13. How do I know if Eutierria Therapy is right for me?

Eutierria Therapy is ideal for individuals seeking a wholistic* approach to mental health, particularly those interested in connecting more deeply with nature and exploring the impacts of cultural and historical trauma. If you’re curious about how this approach can benefit you, we can discuss your needs during an initial consultation.

14. How do I book an appointment?

You can book an appointment by contacting me via phone or email. Alternatively, you can schedule directly through this link: Book an Appointment. Please provide your preferred time and any specific needs you have, and I will do my best to accommodate your schedule.

15. What should I bring to my first session?

For your first session, please bring any completed intake forms and a willingness to explore your therapeutic goals. We’ll spend time getting to know each other and discussing what you hope to achieve through therapy.

16. Is medication a substitute for therapy?

Medication can be helpful for some individuals, but it is not a substitute for therapy. Therapy addresses the underlying causes of distress and promotes long-term growth and healing. In some cases, a combination of therapy and medication may be the best approach. If you’re considering medication, I can help you explore your options and, if needed, provide referrals for medical evaluations.

17. What if I have other questions?

If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly. I’m here to help and will do my best to address any inquiries you may have.
